How to read an IP address over the phone
Reading an IP address aloud is a support call's worst minute. Twelve digits, three dots, two people repeating "no, dot, then eight" at each other. FriendlyIP compresses the whole thing into six characters from an unambiguous alphabet — no confusable zero-versus-O, no punctuation to dictate.
Encode the address on your side, read the code, they decode it on theirs. Deterministic both ways, free, and the offline API means it works inside your own tooling too — setup screens, support scripts, kiosk displays.
IPv6 support is in beta for when the address you're dictating is thirty-two hex digits instead of twelve decimal ones — which is exactly when you'll want it most.
